5F (Northampton) Air Cadets supported the launch of the 75th anniversary of the Air Training Corps today with a church service at the Armed Forces Church (The Church of The Holy Sepulchre Northampton).
The Squadron took part in a service delivered by the Squadron Chaplain and Paul Campbell. During the service the Officer Commanding 5F (Northampton) Squadron, Flt Lt Carol Haynes RAFVR addressed the congregation.
The intercession was led by 4 cadets of 5F (Northampton) Squadron – Cdt Sgt S Anderton, Cdt Sgt L King, Cdt A Raikundalia and Cdt S Kruck, the cadets also read the First and Second Lesson within the service.
Cadet Cpl H Uppal carried the Squadron standard.
5F (Northampton) Squadron was formed in 1938 as part of the Air Cadet Defence Corps, which later became the Air Training Corps on the 5th February 1941, making 5F (Northampton) Squadron 78 years old this year and the Air Cadet Organisation, 75 Years old.

Officer Commanding 5F said “Well done to all the cadets and staff that participated in the service today as always you were a credit to not only the Sqn but the wider ACO. We are all also thinking of Cdt F/Sgt N Murby who is representing 5F today, in the 75th Anniversary parade and church service at The RAF church, St Clements Danes in London, where he has the honour of escorting one of the dignitaries in the presence of HRH, The Duchess of Cambridge. Honorary Air Commandant”.
