Keeping 1800 tri-athletes hydrated was just one of the many tasks conducted by a joint venture of three Nottingham Air Cadet Units as they descended on Holme Pierrepont for the Nottingham Triathlon & National Club Relay Championships.

A team of 30 cadets and 8 staff from 504 (West Nottingham), 1359 (Beeston) and 1936 (Newton) Squadrons, Air Cadets joined together and worked for over 18 hours, on Competitor Feed Stations, Course Crossings, and dismantling the course at the end of the races.

Iain Hamilton: Race Director said “this is a prestigious event in the Triathlon Calendar; the Air Cadets always get praise from the race competitors – who descend into Nottingham from around the country. We love working with the Air Cadets as they just get on with things.”

Flt Lt Paul Woodward, Officer Commanding – “this was the first time we had three units working onsite as one mass representing Nottingham Air Cadets. Keeping the athletes hydrated is a mammoth tasking – one which I am proud to say we achieved with major success. Feedback from the competitors is always positive. I would like to thank the efforts of all the Cadets and Staff”.
