Our day at RAF Cranwell

Article posted: Mar 10, 2013 by Sqn Ldr Pass

On the 12th February, 2071 (Stamford) Sqn and hundreds of other cadets visited RAF Cranwell for Helen Skeltons’ magnificent seven and the money raised goes to Comic Relief.

We all went into the sports hall where the cadet band was playing, we all joined in with a sing song whilst Helen Skelton was undergoing her medical so that she could fly with the Red Arrows. When Helen Skelton walked in the applause was really loud. When we had quietened down she spoke to us and said ‘we all are going to have to hold up a red or black umbrella and we are going to spell out R N D on the grass outside’

The last words she said were ‘can we do it’ and everyone shouted out ‘Yes’!!! When Helen walked out we got a picture with Air Commodore Mc Cafferty and 2248 (Rutland) Sqn.

Also if you missed it on TV you can watch it on the Comic Relief channel on the 15th of March.
