Knee deep in distinguished and decorated guests and parents, 2248 (Rutland) Squadron held their annual presentation evening. The Inspecting Officer Sqn President Air Commodore Gary Waterfall, who recently returned from operations in Italy supporting the UN No fly Zone over Libya, rewarded cadets for their achievements during 2011.
This year is 2248 Squadron’s 60th birthday and its first Commanding Officer, George Kirk was one of the distinguished guests sitting in the audience.
Flt Sgt.James Danford gave a presentation on his trip to Germany where he skied down a black run after learning to ski in one week. There were other presentations on the D of E expeditions and Sqn camps. The drill team gave a good performanace showing what teamwork can produce.
The evening was rounded off with a Ready Steady Cook competition using the new multi-nation ration packs. Who won … it was a close run between the red tomatoesand green peppers.
