Last week PC ‘Gunner’ Alan Morris visited (1188) Coalville Sqn Air Training Corps to personally thank the cadets for their support over the last two years.

PC Morris is from Leicestershire Constabulary Blue Knights Motorcycle Club and was responsible for organising Christmas Presents for all Military Police Officers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan last year and the year before. PC Morris has served abroad in the Army and knows just how welcome a Christmas Present can be, especially if it comes from a total stranger!

The cadets sent 15 shoebox presents the first year and 27 shoebox presents last Christmas. The cadets have received letters of thanks from troops serving abroad and it is clear that the shoeboxes were really appreciated, boosting morale at a difficult time of year. PC Morris said, ‘I wanted to thank the cadets and their families for their generosity and also share some of my service experiences with them. They are a great group of young people and a credit to their families and staff at the squadron.’

Flying Officer R Harrison RAF VR (T) said ‘It was good for the cadets to meet PC Morris and learn about life in the Army, TA and the Police. They also had chance to admire his motorcycle!’
