Porkers win prizes!
To raise funds for the squadron, cadets and staff ran a market stall in Loughborough town centre featuring some unlikely characters! Huge thanks goes to Mick Wells from our Civilian Committee for organising the event and building the stall and equipment. The stall featured a racing track and some fluffy battery powered pigs that raced around. Members of the public were invited to the stall and for a small donation they could race a pig and win a prize. Information was available about the squadron and the Air Cadet Organisation with posters and leaflets. Cadets Liam Kirk (16), Olivia Wain (16), Kayleigh Wilcock (14), Sebastian Blower (14) and Luke Jeffrey (13) helped run the event throughout the day. Winners were given a goody bag with chocolate, pens, mugs and posters in as well as informative leaflets and the squadron business card. We raised a total of £53 for squadron funds which goes towards new equipment for the squadron.
The cadets parade at the Loughborough TA Centre from 7pm on Monday and Thursday nights. We are not currently recruiting but feel free to browse our website at www.2229.org.uk and register your interest for our next intake in the New Year.
