Patricia Randon, retiring Chair of 1181 (Syston) Squadron has presented South & East Midlands Wing with a Silver Plate to be awarded to the squadron in the Wing that has the highest score in the annual Region Media Competition.
This fine plate, to be called The Patricia Randon Plate, was handed over to Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson by Patricia at the Wing’s Swimming Competition. In receiving the Plate, Wg Cdr Dickinson paid tribute to Patricia’s hard work at Syston Squadron during her many years in the Chair and his thanks for the donation of a fine trophy that will be fought for each year.

Patricia Took great pleasure in making the first presentation of the Plate to Cadet Sergeant Bradley Setchell of 1181’s media team. The squadron won the Plate by a clear 4,543 points in the Competition ending on 1st September 2011, a fantastic achievement. 1181 had increased their output by 78% from the previous competition for the period 2009/2010.
“This will be a great spur to other squadrons to wrest this trophy from the grasp of 1181 at the same time helping the Wing regain the top Wing score in the Region” said the Wing’s Media and Communications Officer, Flight Lieutenant Allan Munns.
