Article posted: Dec 15, 2010 by Sqn Ldr Wilson

Recent promotions at 1359 (Beeston) Squadron of the Air Training Corps (ATC) has resulted in 5 new Corporals and a Cadet Warrant Officer (CWO) being appointed.

The 5 new Corporals, Martin Carré, Brandon Redgate, Charlotte Smith, Yacoub Ahmed and Sam Pike, had to go through a selection process which included a written application and an interview with the Commanding Officer, Flt Lt Phil Bannister VR (T). Following the promotions Ft Lt Bannister said “I would like to wish all the cadets promoted to the NCO ranks the very best as they start the very difficult task of learning a new skill and making Beeston a winning team for 2011.”

The squadron’s new CWO, Adam Hill, previously a Flight Sergeant on the unit, met all the prerequisites for being a CWO for example being a Staff Cadet and having attended Wing camps. Following his nomination by 1359’s Commanding Officer he attended a promotion interview with Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson which he successfully passed. CWO Hill commented; “Being a CWO was always my aim, my final target as a cadet and now that I have achieved the rank I can finally give back all the knowledge that has been passed onto me by my peers to the young cadets on the squadron today.”

Congratulations to all of newly promoted cadets from the staff and cadets at 1359 (Beeston) Squadron.
