The weekend of the 21st and 22nd March saw 21 candidates from around South and East Midlands Wing attend the Training and Development Flight at RAF Wittering.

10 candidates arrived for the Civilian Induction Course to be given an insight into the Air Training Corps, how to use BADER – the online Cadet information management system and different Methods of Instruction. It also provides information about the different areas of the Air Training Corps, such as interactive sessions learning about Civilian Committees.

Further to this 11 candidates arrived for an assessed weekend on the Prospective Uniform Course; in hope to develop themselves further to take on a uniformed role. This course helps to prepare potential uniformed candidates for the next step in their adult service, whether VR(T) or SNCO. It allows existing members of Staff to talk through their experiences, whilst testing the candidates practicing scenarios and interactive knowledge tests.

The course also covers topics such as Health and Safety, Child Protection, future Staff courses and mess etiquette for all candidates.

The next Prospective Uniform and Civilian Induction Courses will be held at RAF Wittering on 11th and 12th June.
