On Saturday 11th June Cadet Callum Evans (16) from 2071(Stamford) Squadron took part in the Queens Birthday Flypast, he was a passenger along with other cadets in the Hercules in the formation, this was his first flying experience as a cadet!
In total there were 70 cadets from around the country who took part in this event which also marked the 70th Anniversary of the Air Training Corps.
Cadet Evans who joined 2071 (Stamford) Squadron at the start of the year has recently passed his First Class assessments with Distinctions in every category. Of his experience Cadet Evans said “I was really surprised when I was selected from the other cadets on the Squadron to be put forward even to be considered. I was really excited when I found out that I had been selected by Wing Commander Dickinson to take part. It was a really fantastic day and I really enjoyed seeing all of the aircraft and flying in the Hercules. I am looking forward now to taking the controls of a Grob Tutor the next time the Squadron goes flying.”
