Article posted: Feb 08, 2011 by Flt Lt Waplington

Nine cadets from 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron have successfully completed training and received a pass for the Air Training Corps (ATC) Communicators Badge and Full ATC VHF Radio License, making 2195 Squadron the premier squadron for radio and communications training in South and East Midlands Wing.

The Communicators Badge Course consists of 2 days of training and assessment at RAF Cottesmore in Rutland and involves training in:

Advanced Radio and Radar
Satellite Communications
Circuit Building
Electrical Skills
Internet and Web-based Skills

The award of these badges and certificates marks the end of a fantastic year of radio training on 2195 Squadron with cadets on the Squadron achieving 19 passes at the ATC VHF Provisional License level earlier in the year. This makes 2195 Squadron the highest achieving squadron across all radio training in South and East Midlands Wing.
