On 18th of October 2014 5 cadets from 1461 wigston sqn embarked on a long journey to RAF Henlow along with another 30 cadets for the 2014 autumn wing camp.
Joined by six members of staff the camp comprised of various activities including a visit to the imperial war museum and RAF Wyton for flying. Different sections of the base were visited throughout the week including the military transport section and the physical training section. Cadets; McLean, Mansfield-smith, Hardy S L, Johnson and Sullivan had to deal with early mornings with rain or shine but they managed to get to all sections on time and compete fully in all competitions. One won by cadet McLean and cpl bilous from 1936 Newton sqn this competition was to see who could change the wheel of a land rover the quickest as we worked as a team we completed the task in 38 seconds.
Overall Cadet McLean won best male cadet of the camp and the other cadets from 1461 received various other awards such as basic swimming and intermediate swimming.
