During the Easter break myself and three other NCOs spent the week at RAF Valley. This is a busy flying station and we had a fantastic week seeing what an important role the station plays in training the pilots of the future.
During the week we had a number of section visits including visiting aircraft, ATC, search and rescue, engine bay and fire section. The cadets had tours of the new Hawk T2 facilities, Hawk T1 and the search and rescue (SAR) Sea King aircraft. We learnt about the key role that SAR plays in the district of Snowdonia as well as the mountain rescue team based on station.
Other activities included: drill, target shooting, orienteering, sports, bowling, high ropes, beach party and many more. The week was thoroughly enjoyable and gave the cadets an insight into RAF life.
