Red faced Corporal gets "JJ" birthday suprise

Corporal Jade Cox (16) of 1360 (Stapleford and Sandiacre) Squadron ATC certainly does! It had been a hectic night for all of the cadets at 1360 with cross-country training well underway and all of the cadets were prepared for a night of hard work, but nothing could have prepared CPL Cox for this.

Little did she know that with the help of the staff team and the Cadet NCO team, her parents were going to sneak into the squadron with birthday cake to mark her 16th birthday in style. The cadets were called into the parade hall for a short rendition of happy birthday, as the hatch to the kitchen opened revealing not just a cake, but a cake iced in a baby photo of her with JJ the Jet plane. CPL Cox blushed a little pink colour as the cadets surrounded the cake to see the image.

Corporal Cox said “I didn’t see this coming at all and I was so embarrassed when it did, I underestimated the sneakiness of my parents and doubt I will ever live this down”

The cadets then recovered from cross country training and enjoyed a slice of Cpl Cox’s Cake!
