Article posted: Oct 24, 2011 by Sqn Ldr Utting

1101 Squadron is holding a formal open evening on the 2ND November. New cadets usually arrive any night and join in the training program but this new structured method of recruitment will ensure all new cadets start the same day. This will help forge friendships within the new group and will also help the new recruits settle into their new surroundings as they won’t be starting on their own.
The Air Training Corps offers many opportunities including flying, gliding, a wide range of sporting events, adventure training activities, academic qualifications, aviation related topics, leadership skills and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. However, more importantly, helps the local community at events such as Remembrance Day.
The Squadron welcomes new cadets aged 13 or over and parades each Monday and Wednesday between 7:30pm and 8:30pm. Adult volunteers are also welcome at the Squadron on Northampton Road.
If prospective cadets are unable to attend the open Evening, All prospective cadets and adult volunteers are welcome to visit the Squadron at any time to observe the squadron in operation.
