S&E Midlands Wing Radio Communicators Badge Course

504 Sqn RauxAF at RAF Cottesmore kindly gave the Wing Cadet Development Team permission to use there training faclties for us to run a Radio Course over the weekend 26-28 November 2010.

The course had 36 Cadets from a variety of Sqns from the wing who attended the very cold and snowy weekend.

The cadets where taught many different subjects from Advanced Radio Radar and Satellite Communications to Practical Skills of electronics and actually seeing Aircraft on a Radar Screen and talking to Amateur Radio Stations in Scotland.

This is a very intense course with over 3 exams for them to gain the award of communicators Badge.

The Course was run by Sqn Ldr Utting the Wing Radio Officer &
Flt Lt Bateman the Wing Deputy Radio Officer, with Logistical Support of Flt Sgt (ATC) M Coles and Sgt (ATC) C Brooker who put in many hours of Preparation time to make the course rum smoothly.
