Sherwod Air Cadets make it to Wing Football!

Cadet Hudson reports on his experience representing South & East Midlands Wing at the inter Wing Football Tournament:

“On the 2nd of March 2014, two cadets from 2418 (Sherwood) Ssquadron, myself and cdt Darren Scott, set forth on our journey to RAF Wittering.

On the bus journey the cadets got to know each other for the upcoming matches! When we arrived at the destination, we got to our changing rooms for a pep talk and got in our kit! After a warm up and some stretching we started our matches, which got off to a good start.

The first match drawing 0-0, we went with our heads held high. We continued with our hopes up and stayed strong going undefeated.

At the end of the tournament all of the wing teams lined up as we were told the results.

Everyone was very anxious and nervous. To our surprise we came first by goal difference! We were all really surprised and shocked that those words came out wing commanders mouth.

Overall we had an amazing day playing football and getting to know the other cadets.”
