Sherwood Air Cadets show off for Ghanaian General

On Thursday the 20th March 2014, the staff and cadets of 2418 (Sherwood) Squadron welcomed General Nicholas Nii Tettey-Amarteifio, the National Cadet Coordinator of Ghana, for a night to look around the squadron so he could sample a night with British Air Cadets.

The General received a warm welcome from all the cadets and staff at the squadron who were honoured to host him for the evening. He, along with his fellow guests, looked around the squadron and talked to the cadets so they could get an understanding of what a night on the squadron was like.

They also spoke to the cadets about the Ghana Cadet Force and what they would normally do on a night at their unit.

One cadet said “it was a great experience to be able to meet such a distinguished guest”.

On the squadron’s final parade, the General spoke to the whole squadron and taught the a few of the Ghana traditions on how to thank people.

All at 2418 thoroughly enjoyed the experience of meeting the General and would welcome him and his fellow guests in the future.
