It was a bright and warm morning in the peaks of Derbyshire when I (Cpl Harrison), Cpl Green and Cdts Russell, Furby, Mckeown and Lukaszczyk embarked on our Silver D of E practice expedition. After a long drive to the start point we were all in very high spirits, full of energy and rearing to go, we started walking with real determination, after the first day of walking we set up camp at Barn Farm, learning additional camp-craft tips from the staff as we set up, the camp site was very nice and a very welcome site after the long first day. After receiving the brief for day 2 we set out for another days walking, following our route from the previous day for a short while, it was clear we were all tired but Cdt Russell being our main morale man throughout the entire weekend helped us push through to the end of the day and to our final destination, Matlock bath mining museum. After we said our goodbyes to the staff and cadets from 1936 squadron who were also walking the same route, we all went home. Excited for our live expedition on the 4th – 6th of May.
