Three cadets from 2070 Glenfield Squadron Air Training Corps,
Sgt Carroll, Sgt Webb-Macleod and F/Sgt Holford recently completed their Silver section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
The expedition section proved to be the highlight of the year which saw the cadets hiking though the Derbyshire dales. The cadets had to navigate and generally fend for themselves all weekend only meeting up with adult supervisors occasionally on route, 2 nights out camping near Edale a particular favourite.
Flt Lt Steve Mayoh-Smith, Commanding Officer said, It’s great to see the cadets advancing though the scheme with such enjoyment. The Cadets will now join others on the Squadron to progress through their Gold Award which I’m sure will be a great success.
Duke of Edinburgh Awards is just one of the many activities on offer to cadets in the Air Training Corps and for more information contact your local Squadron or visit www.2070sqn.co.uk
