Sixth Year “Running” Success

For the sixth Year in succession South & East Midlands Wing fought off teams from the five other Wings to win the Central & East Region Cross-Country Championships,

In appalling conditions of snow, rain and freezing wind, the cadets of the Wing stormed home taking all the trophies for the female categories and were runners up in two of the three male classes.

The Wing won the hotly contested competition by an amazing fifty seven points, beating Warwick and Birmingham Wing into second place. “I couldn’t be more proud of every single cadet that turned up on Sunday and gave their all. I couldn’t have asked for any more. We put out a strong team and they didn’t let themselves or the Wing down. There was stiff competition from other wings on the day, but the end result went in our favour due to the hard work and dedication of every single cadet who represented the Wing. As always it goes to show, when we put our best forward and enter every team, we come out on top” said Wing Sports Officer, Flight Lieutenant Lynda Waplington,

Five of the Wing’s runners in this competition will go forward to represent the Region in the Corps Championships.
