Sky High Birthday Treat for Loughborough Air Cadet

It was a treat with a difference – Cdt Jack Scrivin celebrated his 14th birthday with a day of flying in a Viking glider! As a member of 2229 (Loughborough) Squadron, Jack was selected to take part in one of the gliding instruction events, held regularly throughout the year at RAF Syerston, near Newark, and it was only discovered at the Gliding base that it was actually his birthday!

Gliding instructor Michelle Nuttal gave him tuition and he had 3 separate flights in the winch launched aircraft.
The weather was sunny and bright and all the air cadets attending learnt how to move, launch and fly the gliders. Cdt Scrivin really enjoyed the experience and went home happy, ready to tell his friends and family about his great birthday treat!
