Cadets and staff from 209 (West Bridgford) Squadron Air Training Corps, joined other Nottingham Squadrons in South and East Midlands Wing to support the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Based throughout Nottingham city centre 18 Air Cadets spent the day fund-raising by selling poppies and wrist bands to help reach the £40 million target for the British Legion which helps the welfare of ex and serving men and women in the Armed Forces.

For 16 year old Cadet Beth Dodd, spending her weekend supporting the Poppy Appeal was a great success. “I enjoyed serving the public with a smile and giving them their poppies, plus I really enjoyed hearing a few stories from a veteran and from a lovely couple. It was also good to see how the public support the poppy appeal.”

209 (West Bridgford) Squadron will be out again collecting for the Appeal Saturday 8th November in Nottingham and West Bridgford and will be attending the annual Remembrance Parade on at St Giles Church West Bridgford on 9th November.
