A Banner Party of Stapleford Air Cadets was present as the Long Eaton Brach of the Royal British Legion had their old Standard laid up and their new standard Dedicated.

The service was held in the church of St Lawrence, Long Eaton and the service was conducted by the Reverend Simon Ellis, the Branch Padre.

The Long Eaton Branch’s old standard was dedicate by the Bishop of Derby in the 1930’s at the same church. The Standard will be laid up in the church.

The Squadron Banner, carried by Cadet Warrant Officer Katie Macpherson joined Standards from many local ex service organisations to form an honour guard for the Long Eaton Standard.

“It was a proud moment for the Squadron to be invited to such an occasion and I was proud to be the one holding our banner” said Katie.
