Swadlincote Cadets Memorial Avenue

Article posted: Dec 10, 2012 by Flt Lt Rayson-Flynn

Squadron Commander, Flight Lieutenant Alyn Thompson, reflected: “Today, a team of thirty Air Cadets planted ten ornamental Jubilee trees along a newly commissioned avenue named Air Cadet Way, situated in the south-eastern area of the Eureka Park in Swadlincote. We learnt today that at some point early next year, a second line of trees will be planted on the opposite side of the avenue to compliment the trees that were planted today. We are grateful for Head Councillor Mick Bale and his wife visiting us today, and once again thank the South Derbyshire District Council for this kind gesture which commemorates our Squadron’s strong heritage within the Swadlincote area.”
