On Thursday 12th May, during the annual formal inspection, Cadet Scott was promoted to Cadet Corporal by Flight Lieutenant Buckingham. This is in recognition of her year and a half’s hard work on the squadron.

During her short time at 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron ATC, Corporal Scott has taken part in a number of camps and courses, as well as achieving a squadron award.

She has been on two adventure training camps at Llanbedr and Windermere, has completed her youth first aid course and recently attended the Initial NCO course. Last October at the squadrons annual Dining in Night she was presented with the ‘best cadet’ award, for her outstanding performance over 2015. Scott has also recently completed her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and hopes to participate in her Silver Award later in the year.

Corporal Scott said “I have been pushed to do much over the last year and a half during many wing events and adventure training camps. I would never have the chance to do anything like flying outside of the air cadets and I think it’s a shame that others my age don’t have the chance to do all the amazing things that you do in the air cadets.”
