Air Cadets of 126 (City of Derby) Squadron attended the Tom Perry Shooting Match held at Stanton Rifle Club on the 2nd of October. It’s the cadets 6th year at the competition and the shooting team is always greatly welcomed by The Royal Air Force Association (RAFA) who organise the event.
The team of sharp shooters came first overall and took home two individual trophies including, 1st and 2nd place. Cadet Flight Sergeant Alice Southall came 1st with a score of 92 out of 100 and Cadet Flight Sergeant Esmee Marsh came 2nd with a score of 89 out of 100.
RAFA are always excellent hosts at the Tom Perry match, the cadets particularly enjoyed the buffet style food at the end of the event. Cadet Corporal Lewis Reid exclaimed, “I am so happy to have worked hard enough to make the team, as last year I was a reserve. Next year I will try my hardest to come in the individual top three.”
This is a great result for the squadron, who haven’t lost this trophy since they won it 6 years ago. A well done to the cadets and staff involved.
