Nine Air Cadets from 209 (West Bridgford) Squadron have visited the US Air Force Base at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk.
They were taken to the Air Traffic Control Tower were they watched three F15 Eagles take off and were then shown around the radar control room.

They were then taken to the flight line and two aircrew from the USAF’s 494 Fighter Sqn gave then a guided tour of a F15-E Strike Eagle.
Cadet Kirstin Carr said of the day, “It was great when we were looking at the Strike Eagle and when we went up the steps to look in the cockpit it was really cool. The USAF Captain really knew lots and she explained everything in great detail and enthusiastically!”

The tour ended with the Aircrew inviting the Cadets into their Crewroom where the Cadets got to sample the Aircrews homemade ‘jalapeno popcorn!’
