“Wetter than it’s ever been”

Recently staff and cadets headed off for their Annual visit down South to help with the Green Parks fun run and Reading half Marathon.

The week before we had seen, snow, hale and rain so we had no idea what was in store for us. Before setting off WO Bates issued everyone who didn’t have waterproofs a set “just incase”.

We all awoke bright and early Sunday to find quite a fresh morning, Lull before the storm I believe they call it. By 9am the heavens opened. The staff kindly let us wait in the Madejski stadium whilst they “guarded” the drinks outside in the rain prior to the runners coming through.

Some 18,000 runners registered for the event, by 14.00 we’d finished, we were all exhausted and thoroughly soaked to the skin. We all enjoyed the weekend but can honestly say it’s the wettest one to date. Here’s hoping 2014 is dry and bright.
