Wigston Build their skills

Five cadets from 1461 Wigston squadron attended the Wing Method of Instruction Course as the next part of their training for the squadron. Having already reached Master Cadet the MOI course allows the cadets to efficiently teach lessons at their squadron. The course covers all sorts of areas from behaviour in lessons, use of visual aids and the different learning styles someone can prefer. Being a Wing course, cadets from all different squadrons were there, allowing them to share ideas and experiences with each other. “I really enjoyed it because it teaches you skills you can use in and out of cadets”

As well as theory, cadets got to teach a five minute class in small groups on a subject of their choice, this allowed the course staff to give some useful feedback to each individual in preparation for their assessed lesson which cadets need to do to pass the course. Each individual must teach a 15 minute lesson which is assessed by their Wing Staff officer to officially pass the course. Cadets from Wigston came back with lots of new ideas and look forward to putting them into practice in preparation for the assessed lesson.
