Wigston step out in support

Article posted: May 13, 2010 by Flt Lt Rayson-Flynn

Cadets and staff from 1461 Wigston squadron recently stepped out in support of Menphys at their annual 17 mile sponsored walk. Menphys, as its name implies, was founded to serve children and young people with mental and physical disabilities to support their families and has a specialist nursery in Wigston, as well as providing outreach and respite support for families. The cadets set out with a good team spirit that managed to carry them through the challenge of the walk. A grand total of £945 has been pledged and the cadets are now busy insuring that the money gets to the Menphys to help their local community.
Fg Off Tim Hargraves, OiC 1461 Sqn said “this is another great opportunity for the cadets to support a local charity that offers a great deal of support to the local community and the families that are in need of their services. I am proud to see such a large amount raised in aid of a good cause”
