Wing Cross Country 2014

Article posted: Feb 15, 2014 by Sqn Ldr Pass

On Sunday 9th Feb, Cadets from 2070 (Glenfield) Squadron attended the annual Wing Cross Country Competition.

This year it was held at RAF Wittering, the home of the Wing HQ, and the route included running along the runway. The weather was very windy, which made the run even more challenging, for first timers and also the more seasoned runners of the Wing.

Cadets in the team enjoyed the day and felt proud to represent the Squadron in an event, earning more valuable points towards the Annual Wing Competition for the best Squadron.

After the race, first time runner Junior Boy, Cadet Parker JD, said that he enjoyed the race and atmosphere but the run along the runways was extremely hard with the crosswinds that he was experiencing. He was happy with his result of 44th and overall the Boys came 10th.

Cadet Sergeantt Carrol was the Squadron fastest youth and this went towards an overall result of 6th in that category.
