Wing Executive Officer Visits 2071 (Stamford) Squadron

On Wednesday the 20th of January 2016, 2071 (Stamford) Squadron hosted the South& East Midlands Wing Executive Officer, Squadron Leader David Francis RAFVRT.

Squadron Leader Francis spoke to cadets about his role within the wing and air cadet organisation as a whole. After speaking with the cadet element of the squadron, Sqn Ldr Francis held an audience with the staff team, where he pledged his support.

Speaking of his visit, the Wing Executive Officer said “Apart from the new armoury cabinet installation visits, this was my first ever official visit to one of the 29 squadrons within the wing, since taking up post back in November 2015. I would like to thank the cadets and staff for such a warm welcome”.

As a final gesture, the Squadron Leader awarded two very hard earned awards to Cadet Cara Gatward-Clarke (15) her ‘wing blue’ for sporting achievements and her ‘Bronze’ Duke of Edinburgh award, after which he took the salute on final parade.
