Wing Commander Dickinson, Officer Commanding South & East Midlands Wing announced at the recent Squadron Commanders Conference changes to the Wing Staff structure with effect from 1st March 2008.
Two new appointments have been made to reinforce the existing Wing Staff team. The first being Flight Lieutenant Lynda Waplington formally OC 1936 (Newton) Squadron, who has been appointed to the post of Wing Sports Officer, taking over from Squadron Leader Wilson who will now undertake the Wing Adventure Training Officer role. The second appointment is Flight Lieutenant Julie Flynn formally OC 2502 (Hamilton) Squadron who takes up the Wing VQ & BTEC Officer role from Sqn Ldr Flynn, in addition to the new post of Wing Special Projects Officer.
As a result of the appointments, a number of roles have been restructured across the Wing Staff team for which a complete summary can be found on the ‘OCW & Wing Staff’ page under ‘Staff & Contact’ section of the Wing website. Squadron responsibility will remain between the existing Squadron Leader WSO’s, however minor changes to the distribution of units will come into effect on 1st April 2008, details of which will be published on the website next month.
It is anticipated that the above changes will help to ensure that the Wing Staff team of South & East Midlands Wing can continue to support local units across the entire range of Corps’ activities. In addition, moving forward with a number of specific training priorities as identified by OC Wing.
