Wingin’ it at the Wing Parade

The South and East Wing Parade was On Sunday 10th July, 7 cadets from 2195 (Long Eaton) Squadron Air Training Corps travelled to Leicester along with the entire south and East Midlands Wing to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the ATC.

Cadets gathered in their numbers outside Humberstone Gate at 1.30pm, before forming up and parading through the town at around 2pm. The parade consisted of all of the cadets, the squadron banners, the wing banner and the marching band.

Many civilians and families of cadets showed up to see the parade. The parade ended outside Leicester Cathedral where a church service was held for the cadets. During this, all of the cadets sang hymns and listened to speeches made by the priests.

After the church service, all the cadets and the staff lined up outside the church for a wing photo, before everyone made their way home. Cadet Corporal Lucy Scott said, “It was great to participate in such a great celebration and meet up with the rest of the wing”.
