Young West Bridgeford Cadet is Wings Sporting Best
Cadet Suzannah Horn receives the Sportswoman of the Year Trophy from Wing Commander Nigel Dickinson
At only 15 years of age and with just 18 months in the Corps, Cadet Suzannah Horn has become the Wing Sportswoman of the Year for her sporting effort and commitment.
In her short time at 209 (West Bridgeford) Squadron, Suzannah has represented the Wing at cross country, hockey, netball and athletics. This has earned her a Wing Triple Blue. She has also represented the Wing at Region Level in athletics.
Although still a cadet, Suzannah’s enthusiasm has rubbed off on other girls at the squadron and encouraged them to participate more in the squadron’s sporting activities. She has become a role model for the squadron’s younger cadets.
Flight Lieutenant Lynda Waplington, the Wing Sports Officer commented; “at the moment, Suzannah has only taken part in one Region Competition so is still trying to make her mark, however, she is starting to be recognised across the Wing and Region as competitive in running events. She will always give one hundred percent whatever the competition.”
